About This Project

This project began with a bait shop compilation created by Meghan Fenton in December 2025 and posted to multiple Facebook fishing groups. Meghan's original list both inspired this resource and served as the foundational list it was built from, and I developed it into an interactive website and searchable map to make it easier for anglers to find bait shops throughout Maine.

This website is built entirely from crowd-sourced information. While I make every effort to keep the information accurate and up to date, I cannot guarantee that every listing is complete or error-free. Most bait shops include a link to their individual page. I recommend contacting the shop directly to confirm their hours of operation and that they have the bait you need before making the trip.

If you notice missing information, outdated details, or any inaccuracies, I'd appreciate hearing from you. This directory is most actively maintained during ice fishing season, so updates and corrections at other times of year may take a little longer to get to.
